Sad news today as TV legend Ronnie Corbett has died aged 85. The comedian was most known for his show The Two Ronnies alongside Ronnie Barker, which ran from 1971 to 1987 on BBC1.

His publicist released a statement this morning; "Ronnie Corbett CBE, one of the nation's best-loved entertainers, passed away this morning, surrounded by his loving family.

"They have asked that their privacy is respected at this very sad time."

Ronnie also starred in David Frost's 1960s satirical comedy programme The Frost Report, while he was also known for his performances on stage and in many British sketch shows throughout his career.
