Look away, look awaaaaaaaay…

TV Line reports that Netflix has renewed A Series of Unfortunate Events for a third season.

The announcement comes less than a month after season 2 was announced. The first season of the show debuted in January.

A Series of Unfortunate Events is based on the books by Lemony Snicket (a.k.a. Daniel Handler) about three orphans who are desperately trying to prevent their inheritance from falling into the hands of the evil Count Olaf.

Neil Patrick Harris plays Olaf while Patrick Warburton plays narrator Lemony Snicket. Malina Weissman stars as Violet Baudelaire, Louis Hynes as Klaus Baudelaire, and K. Todd Freeman as Mr. Poe.

There are thirteen books in the series. The first season adapted the first four books and it is believed that the second season will take on the next four. It is unclear whether season three will try to adapt the last five or whether the hope is to have them split across the confirmed season and another.
