Yes, the sun is shining but sure we can't be out in it all day and all night. So here's some choices for Netflix when you're having the inevitable 'what should we watch' debate this weekend.
1. Absolutely Fabulous
Sweetie darling, you simply must remind yourself of how good Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley's comedy Absolutely Fabulous is ahead of the movie this summer. Written by Saunders, Ab Fab follows the misadventures of Edina and Patsy - two best friends and booze hounds - along with Edina's long suffering daughter Saffy. It ran originally from 1992 to '96 and was revived from 2001 to 2004, while there was also two anniversary specials in 2011 and 2012. Now it's back from 'Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie', which is out on the 1st July...
2. Bloodline
Bloodline returns for its much anticipated second season this May as the critically acclaimed cast are reunited, so now's your chance to catch up on season one if you haven't already. For those that haven't seen it, it stars Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights), Ben Mendelsohn (The Dark Knight Rises), Sissy Spacek (Carrie), and Linda Cardellini (Mad Men) and follows the story of a Florida family called the Rayburns, who are pillars of the community but have some dark, dark secrets hidden in their past.
Takes a few episodes to get going but worth sticking with.
3. Friday Night Lights
While we're talking Kyle Chandler, now's a perfect time to watch all of the absolutely fantastic Friday Night Lights from start to finish. Worth it for Coach Taylor's epic motivational speeches alone...
4. Patton Oswalt: Talking for Clapping
Fans of sitcom King of Queens will remember Patton Oswalt as Doug's friend Spence, but the actor is also a well-known comedian. This comedy special of his has just arrived on Netflix and is said to be his most upbeat yet, with topics ranging from everything misery to defeat to hopelessness... but, eh, yes, it is 'upbeat', for Patton anyways.
5. Remember Me
Yeah yeah, we know, this looks pants, but sometimes we need to indulge ourselves in a bit of a soppy romance with some beautiful people, okay? It's Robert Pattinson in a love story flick that's not a Twilight movie... once you get passed that, it's not too..... actually, you won't get passed that. Himself and Emilie de Ravin (of 'Lost' and Once Upon a Time fame) star as troubled twenty-somethings Tyler and Ally, who find themselves drawn to one another and fall in love. However, their new-found peace seems destined to be brought to an end when the very forces that brought them together threaten to pull them apart.
Will their love survive? Will it?! Stop judging, hungover you will be all over this.
