The 10 remaining sewers make and celebrate garments from West Africa. Sara Pascoe and judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young are joined by guest judge, Nigerian fashion designer, Banke Kuku. The pattern challenge takes inspiration from a Ghanaian Batakari or Fugu tunic which involves sewing strips of handwoven deboya fabric. In the transformation challenge, the sewers have 90 minutes to make hand-dyed adire fabric into dresses by draping the fabric on the stand. In the made to measure challenge, the contestants make dramatic, flowing wide-sleeved robes worn by people across West Africa

The sewers take on new challenges in Reduce Reuse Recycle week, starting with making a pair of trousers with zero-waste before tackling a mountain of wasted tote bags in the Transformation Challenge. For a Made to Measure outfit, the sewers have been asked to source second-hand crochet blankets
