Pole Marie Sklodowska emigrates to France where she meets and marries fellow scientist Pierre Curie, and they start to collaborate - resulting in them receiving a Nobel Prize. Growing doubts over the safety of radium casts a shadow over their research, but even after Pierre's death, Marie is determined to carry on.
