After out in the Midlands folk club circuit in the 1970s, the Birmingham-born entertainer's observational humour and story-telling style meant television soon beckoned, resulting in award-winning stand-up satirical shows Carrott's Lib and Carrot's Commercial Breakdown and sitcom The Detectives. He recounts the story of those series, shares his insights into what makes for a successful career in comedy writing and performing and reveals some of his favourite moments from over the years - including the name of one particular famous fan whose unexpected praise was the cherry on the comedy cake.
