It doesn't matter if you're a well-known actor with critical acclaim, being a proud dad is the same for everyone.
So it goes with Ethan Hawke, who took to Instagram yesterday to praise his daughter's performance in 'Stranger Things'. Maya Hawke, Ethan Hawke's daughter with Uma Thurman, plays Robin in the Netflix series and has already been singled out as one of the breakout performances of the this season.
On his personal Instagram, Hawke talked about his daughter's career to date. "Some of you may have missed her in last year’s BBC production of Little Women. Some of you may have missed her work at Juilliard. I know many missed out on numerous high school productions — heck I even missed a few and I’m her father."
Hawke went on, calling his daughter "the real thing", and was joined in the comments by the likes of fellow 'Stranger Things' alum Finn Wolfhard and even Andy Cohen.
'Stranger Things' is currently streaming on Netflix.
