The Rain

We've had shows about zombie apocalypse's and robots taking over the world and even a (fairly terrible) movie about the wind turning against us thanks to M. Night Shyamalan, but now it's the rain's turn to wreak some havoc in this upcoming Netflix show which marks the first Danish original series for the streaming service. It's not anything as simple as the rain flooding the world a la Noah and the Ark however, it's much more sinister as it sees a brutal virus carried by the rain wipe out almost all humans.,The drama kicks off six years after this first happened with two siblings emerging from the safety of their bunker to find all remnants of civilisation gone. Soon they join a group of young survivors and together set out on a danger-filled quest through abandoned Scandinavia, searching for any sign of life.

My Guest Needs No Introduction: Tina Fey

David Letterman is out of retirement for this monthly show on Netflix which sees him conduct in-depth interviews with a range of personalities. So far in this series he has chatted to former President Barack Obama, George Clooney, Malala Yousafzai, Jay-Z and next up is the wonderful comedian/writer/ actress Tina Fey.

Anon

Sal Frieland (Owen) is a detective in a world with no privacy, ignorance, or anonymity; where everyone’s lives are transparent, traceable, and recorded by the authorities; where crime almost ceases to exist. But in trying to solve a series of unsolved murders, Frieland stumbles on a young woman known only as the Girl (Seyfried). She has no identity, no history and is invisible to the cops. Sal realizes this may not be the end of crime, but the beginning.

Safe

It's been 4 years since Michael C. Hall hung up his boots as serial killer Dexter, and he hasn't really had a decent role to sink his teeth into since. However, that looks like it's about to change in this new Netflix series that is based on a book by best-selling writer Harlan Coben. The eight-part thriller and is adapted for TV by BAFTA winning writer Danny Brocklehurst (Ordinary Lies, The Driver, Shameless and new BBC drama starting tonight In the Dark). Hall stars alongside Sherlock's Amanda Abbington and is set to play a paediatric surgeon raising his two teenage daughters Jenny and Carrie alone after the death of his wife. However, when his eldest daughter disappears in mysterious circumstances he realises that in fact he knows nothing about the people closest to him...

Cargo

From the producer of The Babadook, this upcoming Netflix Original movie looks very promising indeed. When he becomes infected, the countdown begins for him to find her protection before he changes forever.
