Apple TV+ has announced cast members for season two of the murder-mystery comedy 'The Afterparty'.

Stars of season one Sam Richardson and Zoë Chao will return, alongside Tiffany Haddish who plays the snooping detective Danner.

British actor and comedian Jack Whitehall will join the cast for season two. Alongside him are new additions Elizabeth Perkins ('Sharp Objects'), Zach Woods ('Silicon Valley'), Paul Walter Hauser ('Black Bird'), Poppy Liu ('Hacks'), Anna Konkle ('PEN15') and Vivian Wu ('Away').

The first season of the show received a positive critical reaction. The plot followed Richardson's character Aniq in a race to find a murderer amongst his old schoolmates at a high school reunion party. Each episode gave the perspective and story of a different character, filling in the blanks of the night until the suspect is cornered.

Each episode of the first season also featured different genres and themes, including one animated episode and a musical.

Christopher Miller created the season. He serves as an executive producer alongside frequent partner, Phil Lord, and Anthony King.

Season two will revolve around a wedding, with Richardson, Chao and Haddish reprising their roles from season one. At the moment, further details are few and far between. However, Miller has revealed that the new season will also include different film styles, genres, and a dog.

The show is yet another example of the resurgence in whodunnits like 'Only Murders in the Building', which is also getting a second season.

Season one of 'The Afterparty' is currently available to stream on Apple TV+.
