'Only Murders in the Building' was a huge success when it landed on Disney+ and fans are desperate to find out what happened to Mabel, Charles and Oliver after season one's bloody finale.

The official synopsis for season two reads: Following the shocking death of Arconia Board President Bunny Folger, Charles, Oliver and Mabel race to unmask her killer. However, three (unfortunate) complications ensue - the trio is publicly implicated in Bunny's homicide, they are now the subjects of a competing podcast, and they have to deal with a bunch of New York neighbours who all think they committed murder.

Speaking to Vanity Fair this week, co-creator and showrunner of the series, John Hoffman revealed further details as to what the trio - played by Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short - are going to get up to in the upcoming season two.

Earlier this year, The show added new cast members. Among them was British actress and model Cara Delavigne, who plays Alice, an art gallery owner. Alice will also be Mabel's love interest for the new season. According to Hoffman, she "puts Mabel in touch with a side of herself she's been somewhat neglecting since the show began."

Delavigne and Gomez are close friends in real life, adding to their on-screen chemistry. Hoffman said "It was amazing to have the two of them know each other and feel comfortable. It's a little sparky in all the right ways that makes you feel like, oh, someone's opening someone’s world."

Another big addition for season two is Amy Schumer. The comedian will play a heightened, self obsessed version of herself. Her character expresses interest in adapting the 'Only Murders' podcast for the screen and wants to star in a feminist antihero version told from the perspective of Jan, the season one murderer.

There will also be clashes between the main trio, a continuation of the underlying tension between them last season. In one episode, Mabel throws a party that the pair attend, and "It's a little bit rough," Hoffman teased.

The upcoming season explores new and mysterious parts of the Arconia. With that, the main character's relationships with the building are further revealed. Charles' father enters the story through flashbacks, giving us more of an insight into his childhood.

The second season aims to "know the history of each of these people with the building…the secrets that are unfolding." Hoffman said. "There are the unknowns that catch you off guard emotionally."

With that intriguing new information, we can't wait to see what the gang gets up to next season!

Season two of 'Only Murders in the Building' lands on Disney+ on June 28.
