Sources suggest that a Boba Fett spin-off series may be getting underway to film as early as next week.

Just one week after the arrival of 'The Mandalorian' season two onto our screens - episode two is out today FYI - it appears that production on season three is already gearing up. According to Deadline, season three could begin filming as early as next week.

Well, it could begin filming next week - or it could be another spin-off that Disney has been quietly developing. It's all very hush hush of course - this is Disney and Lucasfilm here - but the publication suggests that a Boba Fett miniseries might film before season three of the Pedro Pascal-led 'Star Wars' series.

There are two or three production dates currently lined up for filming at Lucasfilm. One possible production start date is next week (the second week of November); the other suggests late November or early December; while others point to spring 2021 being another potential date.

We already know that during the year, series creator and director Jon Favreau was busy working away on season three of 'The Mandalorian'. While not officially greenlit, but it's almost certainly a given with the amount of buzz surrounding the series (and one of the only ones to look forward to as we head further into winter). He previously stated that he hoped to start filming by end of 2020.

So, hopefully, we'll get confirmation soon on whether we'll get 'The Mandalorian' season three first, or this rumoured Boba Fett miniseries. A couple of years ago, the James Mangold Boba Fett movie was cancelled after moving far along the production cycle.

With plenty of cameo roles expected throughout this second season (Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka Tano is expected to pop up), there's already casting rumours for season three. Sophie Thatcher (Grimes lookalike and star of 'Chicago Med' TV series and 'The Tomorrow Man') has reportedly joined the cast in an undisclosed role.
