'The Mandalorian' has become a firm favourite with 'Star Wars' fans ever since it was released on Disney+, and it is a wonderous prequel that adds even more layers to the vast intergalactic series that has been on our screens for decades.

Now, with anticipation high for the return of the space series later this year (allegedly, all episodes of season two have already been filmed), it looks like a fan-favourite 'Star Wars' character may be making her big-screen debut in live-action. Take the news with a pinch of salt for now, but actress Rosario Dawson in 'The Mandalorian' as Ahsoka Tano may be on the cards.

In an interview with Variety, when asked about the rumour, Dawson said: "That’s not confirmed yet but when that happens, I will be very happy. I’m very excited for that to be confirmed at some point."

Can we take this as a confirmation then? She further went on to say, she would do the series "a million and one per cent because of the fans". Hopefully, Disney will confirm the rumours soon.

If you're a 'Star Wars' fan, you'll know character Ahsoka Tano from her multiple appearances in the various franchise spin-offs of late, including 'The Clone Wars' animation series and film (where she first appeared), as well as five of the series' video games.

And if you've been paying attention to rising action stars in TV shows, you'll recognise Rosario Dawson from her appearances in a number of television series. Dawson landed a key role in Netflix/Marvel's 'Daredevil' series one, which evolved into her appearing in many of the other Marvel series on Netflix as nurse Claire Temple, including 'Jessica Jones' too.

If you haven't yet tuned in, you can watch the first episodes of 'The Mandalorian' on Disney+ in Ireland. Episode six of the first season lands on the service this Friday.
