Fans of True Detective will be happy to hear that the anthology series will be going back to its roots for season three and we can all happily pretend that the second season just didn't happen.
The upcoming season will see Mahershala Ali take the lead as an Arkansas police detective whose connection to a sinister missing persons case spans decades. The Closer's Jon Tenney will star alongside him and he reckons that this new season will restore fan's faith in the show.
Speaking to Observer, Tenney said: "I can't get into real specifics, but I think it does move a little bit in the direction of season one… a little bit more maybe than season two.
"The scripts are just so compelling. Again, really moving. The company is great. I can't really say a whole lot, but I'm thrilled to be part of it and I think people are going to really dig it."
The series, which is written by Nic Pizzolatto, has run into a bit of difficulty behind-the-scenes recently with HBO announcing that filmmaker Jeremy Saulnier would be quitting the show after just two episodes, despite being signed onto direct half of the season.
Although the show is still in good hands with Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead's Daniel Sackheim now on board as a director and executive producer alongside Pizzolatto.
No air date has been announced yet but you can catch True Detective season three on Sky Atlantic in Ireland and HBO in the US.
