After the first teaser for 'The Conners' debuted online over the weekend, Roseanne Barr has now announced that she's moving to Israel ahead of the show's premiere.
The series will pick up after 'Roseanne' ended with Barr being entirely written out of the show and having no involvement in the new series whatsoever. In an interview with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach’s podcast, Barr said that she has "an opportunity to go to Israel for a few months and study with my favorite teachers over there, and that’s where I’m going to go and probably move somewhere there and study with my favorite teachers."
If that seems like an overreaction, Barr added that she's staying neutral on 'The Conners' and how it'll handle her departure. "I’m staying neutral. That’s what I do. I’m staying neutral. I’m staying away from it. Not wishing bad on anyone and I don’t wish good for my enemies. I don’t. I can’t. I just stay neutral. That’s what I gotta do. I have some mental health issues of depression and stuff. I got to stay in the middle or I’ll go dark, and I don’t want to go dark again. I’ve done it," explained Barr.
The stars of 'The Conners' - that's John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, and Sara Gilbert - have all remained pretty tight-lipped about both Barr's exit and the upcoming series beyond a few words here and there, but no doubt there'll be more coming in the weeks ahead before the series premiere in October.
