We finally have an air date for the winter Love Island finale. And it looks like we've less than two weeks of the show left to go.

Winter Love Island debuted on January 12th, which was a Sunday.

We knew from the get-go it was only going to air for 6 weeks, rather than the usual 8 week duration.

The air date they've chosen - Sunday 23rd February - is indeed exactly six weeks from its premiere.

On that night, the winning couple will be crowned, as voted by the public. They'll then be faced with the choice of splitting the £50k prize or keeping it for themselves.

Last year's winners were Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea and it looks like Paige Turley and Finn Tapp are the favourites to win this season.

Mind you, Shaughna Phillips also has a popular following. So there could be a turn of events, as happened with Amber last year, to make her queen.

After all, as teased in the first look for tonight, Shaughna has her eye on Luke M at the moment. Watch this space, folks.

The first look also indicated that the game 'News Splash', which unveils headlines about the islanders that have done rounds outside the villa, could cause trouble among the established couples.

'Love Island' continues tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media One.
