If you've seen 'Killing Eve' - and indeed, 'Doctor Foster' a few years ago - you'll be aware of just how talented an actress Jodie Comer is.
The 26-year-old actress scooped her first BAFTA last night for her role in the former show, playing the ruthless assassin Villanelle. The character was adapted for 'Killing Eve' by Phoebe Waller-Bridge of 'Fleabag' fame, and who was included in Comer's emotional acceptance speech.
"Phoeb, I feel so lucky not only to say that I have worked with you, but to call you a friend," she said. "You are the most talented person I know. Thank you for being such an inspiration."
She also paid tribute to actor Stephen Graham and her grandmother Frances, who passed away during the first week of filming on 'Killing Eve'. "She never got to see Villanelle, but she was the life and soul of everything," she said. "When she was here she used to say, 'You get it off me, you know?' And I just want to stand up here tonight and say Nana Frances, you were right all along."
Most importantly, however, who knew she was such a Scouser?!
