Set your thermometers to "stunning" as one of the fan-favourites from season one has been officially confirmed for her Italian getaway.
Jennifer Coolidge is back for 'The White Lotus' season two. Initially rumoured to be heading back to her character from HBO's first season of the whodunnit/comedy about white rich people enjoying their Hawaiin break in a mismanaged luxury hotel, this is the first time the actor has been a definite shoo-in.
In season one of the Mike White creation for HBO (available here via Sky and NOW), Coolidge played the role of a Tanya, an heiress mourning the loss of her mother. The rather emotional yet utterly hilarious woman was craving some relaxation as well as the company of a man, and ended up making a close connection with another hotel guest, Greg (Jon Gries). She also gave Belinda (Natasha Rothwell), the hotel's spa manager, a lot of false hope regarding a business proposal.
All in all, Tanya was one of the more memorable characters from the season, and she's about to become the main character. Jennifer Coolidge will lead 'The White Lotus' season two from its new location of sunny Sicily in Italy, which began filming this week.
There's quite an eclectic mix of actors joining the follow-up season about elite white people attempting to have a "break" from reality: indie-film lover and 'Parks and Recreation' star Aubrey Plaza was one of the first names signed up, alongside 'The Sopranos' actor Michael Imperioli. Also joining the ensemble for round two will be Tom Hollander, F. Murray Abraham, Theo James, Adam DiMarco, Meghann Fahy, Haley Lu Richardson, Leo Woodall and Will Sharpe.
Here's hoping that Cristobal Tapia de Veer's tribal music with the ability to keep us on edge will be making a return for season two (and some elegant Italian wallpaper would be bellisima too).
