Disney has officially confirmed the launch date for their streaming service - Disney+ - as March 31st, 2020.
The tweet came from Disney UK's Twitter account last night, confirming speculation for some time that the service wouldn't reach these shores until next year. In the US, the service will launch next Tuesday, November 12th, with a string of new original TV shows including 'The Mandalorian', the first live-action series set in the 'Star Wars' universe.
Disney is betting big on Disney+, already confirming a slate of movies solely for the service including a long-awaited sequel to 'Hocus Pocus' and a reboot of 'The Mighty Ducks' more recently. As well as this, just about every movie, TV show, and cartoon Disney has ever made will be available on Disney+ from launch. There's even a three-hour video on YouTube that goes through them all.
A price-point for Disney+ has not yet been announced, however the likelihood is that it will match the US and be around €7 per month, or an annual subscription fee of €70.
