Ah here, you would hope anyone visiting the Chernobyl nuclear disaster site would have enough cop on to know it wasn't an opportunity to show off how peachy your ass is, but unfortunately, that's not the case.
The success of the Sky and HBO TV series 'Chernobyl' has encouraged a new wave of tourists to visit the Zone of Exclusion in the town of Pripyat, Ukraine. However, not all are giving the site of the nuclear disaster the respect it deserves.
'Chernobyl' writer and producer Craig Mazin took to Twitter today to urge tourists to "comport yourselves with respect for all who suffered and sacrificed".
The disaster site started opening itself to tourist in the late 90s but its popularity has increased in recent years with the ghost town Pripyat showing up in some TV shows and video games. No doubt that will now continue to rise but hopefully visitors will take Mazin's words to heart.
