With confirmation this weekend that the second season of 'Big Little Lies' will kick off in June, people are already looking ahead for a possible third season.

However, in an interview picked up by Vulture at the Television Critics' Association last night, David E. Kelley and the cast of the second season - which includes Meryl ACTUAL Streep - seemed to nail that possibility to the floor. When quizzed on its likelihood, Kelley said that there "is no such plan now," before Reese Witherspoon quickly interjected and pointed out that he said that the last time.

Nicole Kidman, meanwhile, seemed much more adamant and confirmed that there was no plan. "This was a long shoot for us and an enormous amount of work. I will say not to compare it to the first one because artistically it’s a wonderful thing and it is its own entity. It was made with an enormous amount of love."

Kelley, meanwhile, explained that they "like our closure at the end of season two, so that will probably be it."

The second season picks up from last season's shocking finale and sees Meryl ACTUAL Streep enter the orbit of the Monterey Five as the mother of Alexander Skarsgard's character. Laura Dern, Zoe Kravitz, Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman are all returning, so the question really is how they're going to close it all off.

The second season of 'Big Little Lies' begins in June on Sky Atlantic.
