In spite of Phoebe Waller-Bridge saying time and again that 'Fleabag' is finished, we could be getting more episodes.

The news comes just after 'Fleabag' won big at this year's Emmys. It took home the awards for Best Writing, Best Lead Actress and Best Directing in a Comedy Series; as well as the highly coveted Outstanding Comedy Series.

Subsequently, Phoebe Waller-Bridge - who both wrote and played the lead in the comedy-drama - scored a major deal with Amazon which is reportedly worth around $20 million a year. Waller-Bridge will create and produce new television content that will be exclusive to Prime Video.

It seems that Amazon Studios boss Jennifer Salke is hoping the new content will include more 'Fleabag', Deadline reports.

“I’ll have to really know that and see evidence of that before I really buy in,” Salke commented.

Admitting “people will say I’m in denial,” Salke hoped that Waller-Bridge would pen at least one more season of the series.

She added:

“She probably thinking to herself like ‘geez do I have another story to tell because people really love this.’”

Between writing 'Killing Eve' for BBC America and contributing to the next James Bond script, it's clear Waller-Bridge isn't short on ideas outside of 'Fleabag' anyway.

Says Falke, “She’s a very prolific producer, but she’s not going to do a show just to do a show.”

“She was thinking about a movie, thinking about a show,” the Amazon boss regarding conversations they've had thus far.

“She’s pretty special.”
