When you think of the culinary achievements of the Irish, the crisp sandwich may in fact be our finest invention. Yes, we definitely invented it so don't ask any more questions.

In recognition of that monumentous contribution to gastronomy, Aer Lingus have decided to finally offer customers the chance to try the delicacy on board their flights, so that the world may know what they've been missing out on all these years.

The set up, which includes a good slab of butter and some fresh white sliced pan, will cost €4 from the in-flight service offered by Aer Lingus, and is available on all European routes as of today.
