Finally we have arrived at the point where X Factor gets interesting. We've sorted the gems from the dross and weeded out all the boring ones. As the live shows are upon us, we are left only with those who tick all the boxes – image, likeability, originality and voice - and of course, those marketable token crazies who found a home on the dumping ground that is Louis' category, some of whom we love (Johnny Robinson) and some of whom we'd like to punch in the face (Kitty Brucknell).

Jetting off to their respective exotic locations, this weekend's instalment of the X Factor saw 32 finalists become 16. Arriving at their mentors' luxurious gaffs, all complete with infinity pools and breathtaking views, the eager contestants were quick to get down to business but not before crying into the cameras about just how much this would mean to them and their grannies (yawn ,yawn, YAWN). The groups were greeted by Tulisa and her right hand woman,Jessie J, the over's met Louis and novelty X Factor guest, Sinnita(who God love 'em, tried their best to feign excitement upon the 80's 'star's' arrival). The girls were in bits meeting Kelly and her guest Jennifer Hudson (who looked just amazeballs) while the lads could hardly contain themselves in the presence of cool-as-fook Robbie Williams who joined his best mate Gaz, got on like a house on fire and quite frankly, stole the show. Difficult decisions, jumping into ridiculously beautiful infinity pools and one or two shocks ensued (Jade? Terry? WTF? Nooo!)
