We all like our McDonald's now and then, especially when it's combating a hangover, but this is taking it a bit too far.

McDonald's in Hong Kong have started hosting wedding receptions for newlyweds who are simply mad for their Big Macs in 15 of their restaurants in the region, with many couples choosing to celebrate their big day in the fast food outlets because that's where they went on their first few dates and want 'to relive sweet beginnings and bring their romantic story full circle', or so says spokeswomen for the franchise Jessica Lee.

Apparently for the small sum of HK$2,888 or €273, guests can have parties in their local McD's all to themselves. Because nothing says 'your special day' like smelling of grease and fat for hours on end.

According to CNBC, the deluxe version of McDonald's four separate wedding packages (yes, four), which comes out at HK$9,999 or €946, gets you:

2-hour venue rental, McDonaldland character gifts for 50 guests, 50 invites, wedding gifts, a pair of McD's balloon wedding rings, bridal bouquet, apple pie cake display, Crystal McDonald's house, decorations, a MC and more

And it's not just limited to weddings. McDonald's will also accommodate anniversaries, engagements, and bridal shower parties. Just so you can make sure that you'll have to get that dress refitted several times.

There are currently no plans to start the service outside of Hong Kong, so if your heart is set on a cheap and easy wedding, you're just going to have to try and strike a bargain with your local chipper. Battered sausage bouquets are trés in this wedding season.
