Apparently Richard Gere is that convincing as a homeless dude in his latest movie that some benevolent French lady presented him with a bag full of pizza she just happened to have on her person. She must not have seen the cameras, or the director, of the innumerable ADs, or the extras, or the make up truck, or the fact that it's Richard Gere. Still at least the film got a bit of PR out of it...

According to The New York Post, this is what happened: "'What's in the bag?" Gere, 64, asked. 'I tried to tell him in English, but it came out half in French,' she said. 'I said, 'Je suis désolée [I am sorry], but the pizza is cold.' Apparently, millionaire beggars can't be choosers. He said, 'Thank you so much. God bless you,'  Gombeau recalled."

So he took the pizza. I would too; food served on those double decker buses on film sets is muuuuuuck.
