Starting to get withdrawal symptoms about the lack of football on your telebox? Fear not! Today, Wednesday, sees the first international between England and Ireland since the ill-fated 1995 fixture at Lansdowne Road.

This kicks off a busy 3 weeks for 'The Boys in Green' which sees them play friendlies against Georgia and Spain, as well as, a crucial World Cup qualifier against the Faroe Islands in the Aviva Stadium on the 7th June, for which we have an amazing money-cannot-buy prize to give away - see below.

Trap's boys will be looking to exorcise the demons of the last minute equaliser they conceded to Austria last time out. That result leaves us 4th in our group, level on points with Sweden and Austria and well behind Germany. Any result other than a win against the Faroe Islanders will put a nail in the coffin of any lingering ambitions Ireland have of qualifying for Brazil 2014.

To get us in the mood to start bellowing 'Ole, Ole Ole Ole Ole, Ole, Oohhh-laaay', we've put together a selection of some of the best Irish goals we can remember.

Goal A: McAteer v Holland: The day to end all days. McAteer's cracker ensured qualification to the World Cup in Japan and South Korea in 2002.

Goal B: Whelan v USSR. Was it off his shin? Who cares! Ronnie Whelan's sublime strike sent the travelling hoards into wonderland at Euro '88.

Goal C: McLoughlin v N.Ireland. In my view this strike against Northern Ireland gets overlooked a little. The Republic were playing in a venomous atmosphere in Belfast and on the verge of being knocked out of the qualifying for the '94 World Cup in the USA. Enter Alan McLoughlin!

Goal D: Keane v France. What might have been? The game that will always be remembered for the hand of the traitorous Thierry Henry. Lest we forget this great goal from Robbie Keane that got us to extra time.

Goal E: Houghton v England. The goal that started it all. Irelands first ever game at the European Championships in Stuttgart '88 against the 'aul enemy, England, is now legend.
