Will.i.am doesn't like the idea of not being able to twerk (don't worry, Miley can't either but she still does it), so he's taken it upon himself to have twerking lessons.

The Black Eyed Peas star wanted to learn how to do the butt-bouncing dance properly so he got someone to show him how to shake his derrière in the right way.

He also doesn't think Miley Cyrus' sexually explicit twerking routine with Robin Thicke at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) hasn't damaged the popularity of the craze.

When asked if Miley's VMAs display had destroyed the dance phenomenon, he replied: 'What are you talking about, man? I had twerking lessons yesterday.'

will.i.am also revealed the person who has most influenced his producing and performing career the most is Michael Jackson.

The 'Where is the Love' hitmaker - who is heading out on a solo tour this December - insists the late King of Pop showed him the importance of being humble, no matter how famous you get.

In an interview with the Metro newspaper, he said: '(I learned the most from) Michael Jackson. I learned that if entertainment is your career, every second of your life is like being on stage. And humility. Every performance could be your last, so make sure you're making the right decisions. It's why he had such an excellent body of work. As big as he was, he wasn't arrogant. He wasn't rude.'
