If you've been missing Ireland's err, favourite football pundit of late, fear not, for Eamon Dunphy will be back in your lives soon enough, and you'll know more about him than you ever did before.

Dunphy will leave no stone unturned in his autobiography, taking us right the heart of his sporting dramas. However, he insists that he won't be telling us anything about his private life when he hits the bookshelves.

"You can forget that baby" Dunphy says. "It will be about my work and all the trouble I’ve been in, in various forms. But I won’t be implicating any other people. I’ll have a qualifying thing at the start saying ‘Any resemblances to any people dead or alive are purely coincidental’." In other words, Eamon will be stirring the pot, as per usual.

The rather aptly titled 'The Rocky Road' will be published in October, and Penguin Books' Publishing Director Tony Lacey says it's well worth reading: "Eamon’s autobiography has been long-awaited, and it doesn’t disappoint. It moves between the private and the public, with stories from the worlds of football, politics and journalism" he said.

We can't wait to see what else he has to say about Saipan at this stage. Here's hoping this one isn't a bit of an own goal now...
