Alissa Sizemore is an 8-year-old girl who absolutely loves dancing, and won't let anything stop her from doing it.

Last year, Alissa was playing in the street near her home in Utah when she went out into the road and had her foot run over by a delivery truck. The injury was so severe that doctors needed to amputate it from below the knee to save her leg, and that posed her a number of challenges.

One of the biggest ones was that she wouldn't be able to dance anymore...or so they thought. Without her parents knowing, Alissa started practicing moves all on her own at home, and when she went along to one of her sister's dance classes, she surprised everyone by hopping into the middle of the studio and giving it her all.

In September of last year, she told her teachers and family that she wanted to perform in the recital at Vernal high school in February, and she did just that, getting a standing ovation and bringing more than a few in the crowd to tears.

Speaking about the performance to People Magazine, Alissa said "It was real hard losing my leg, because I love music and dancing so much. Everybody came together to get me dancing again. All of the teachers helped me and I knew there was no way I was going to give up. I love all of my teachers and I love that I can dance again"
