If you're going to fail as spectacularly as this then it's just as well it's while you're celebrating a score rather than during actual gameplay.

New South Wales scored a last gasp try to win the third game in the State of Origin series against Queensland (though they lost the series).

NSW teammates celebrated with such excitement that their group hug mutated in one of the most spectacular fails in the history of celebrating. As several of his teammates embraced each other, Aaron Woods attempted to join in by jumping on top of the group. However he overshot the jump by a long ways and well...just watch.

Let's take a look at that from another angle.

You've got to love his recovery. Just dusts himself off and continues celebrating alone as if nothing happened. Woods was quizzed on the jump after the game and put the failure down to his immense athletic ability.

"Oh mate, I've never jumped that high in my life. The amount of airtime I got, it gave the boys enough time to get out of the way," he told Fox Sports.

"I tried to just lay on the ground and put my arms up as if no one had seen me, but there was about 65,000 who did. I just missed and I'm going to cop it for a long time now."
