You know, mixed martial arts and Christianity, that whole connection there...

In a clip from a new documentary about Christianity and mixed martial arts (which we imagine to be a fairly small area of crossover on the Venn diagram which depicts the two), we get a glimpse of what life is like for a fighter who believes that their mission in life is to bring the word of God to people through the medium of fighting.

Academy Award-Winning Director Daniel Junge and his directing partner Bryan Storkel are the people behind the project, and they hope to use it to show that there are a number of people who are using mixed martial arts to spread the message of Christianity, and to highlight the popularity of the sport in the United States at the moment.

This clip gives a little flavour of that, with one fighter saying that he believes that he can make a connection with the audience and with his opponent through the fight, and that if he wins it's because God wanted it. We're not sure if that includes this particular type of contact, however, as both fighters end up giving each other a low blow at the exact same time, bringing both of them to the floor. Not a tactic we remember reading the in the Bible...

Honest to God (given the subject matter) the tagline they've given it is "because Jesus never tapped out". We're in.
