American football is a game of skill and tactics, and trying to fool your opponent with a trick play is a huge part of it.
If you manage to pull it off, it looks great, if not, then you can end up looking a bit stupid. That's what happened to Arkansas State last night as they tried to pull of a fake punt and make the opposition think they weren't going to pass it.
For a reason that genuinely defies logic, one of their players pretended to die, and just lay down on the field, which...well we can't explain. The play was read like so many textbooks covered in the same wallpaper that adorned your living room, and the opposition are left with the simple task of picking off a terrible pass.
If you ask us, this play looks and sounds like it came from the mind of Homer Simpson.
