Bryan Cranston may have been a late bloomer in terms of his huge success with Malcolm in the Middle and Breaking Bad - but before that, he had to resort to measures that most actors face at some point in their career, aka the random TV ad.

Last night at the SAG Awards, Cranston was walking the red carpet and chatting to E!'s Giuliana Rancic when she sprung one of those aforementioned random TV ads on him.

The 1998 ad was for a coffee creamer called Carnation Coffee Mate, and to give him credit, Cranston handled it with humour and grace, saying that his mother would always try to talk it up; “My mother could never remember if it was Coffee-mate or Cremora," he said. "And she would say, ‘I love that Cream-mate creamer! I use that in my coffee all the time.’"
