If you've not heard by now, baseball and New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter is retiring this season.

You may remember Jeter from an appearance in The Other Guys with Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, or from being a sure-fire Hall of Famer on the field, but either way his career is coming to a close this season.

In preparation for the momentous day, a lot of his sponsors have been putting together ads, including ones like this featuring Jay-Z, but this latest effort from Gatorade is one that will be tough to beat.

It shows Jeter getting out of his car and making his way to the stadium on foot, as the people of New York are both shocked and thrilled to meet him on the street. Around the 0:56 second mark he gives a kid an autograph, and he displays the type of joy that we can only remember from our childhood; that innocent, amazing moment we all dreamed of where you got the chance to meet your sporting hero and for a second he made you feel like you were the most important person in the whole world, and that made you idolise him even more. That moment will make you happy, we guarantee.

He truly is a bi-racial angel.
