Mirko Caballero from Los Gatos, California, says he began to "climb seriously" when he was 6 years old. Since then, he has achieved great successes in bouldering and sport climbing and is currently among a very small group of young teenagers who are climbing at grades in the 5.14 range, which is the equivalent to the strength of an adult bonobo monkey.

Mirko's parents are Swiss and climbers themselves, as well as his brother and sister, so it would be fair to say that it runs in the family. The youngster, who was 12 at the time of filming the video below, is well respected among the climbing community and would be considered to have serious potential by some of the best adult climbers in the world. Not just for his ability, however, but also for his relaxed and technical style as well as his mature mentality.

Among the various disciplines of climbing, Mirko prefers Bouldering due to its technical and problematic difficulty, something that is quite apparent in the film below. Take a for yourselves, to see just how impressive this kid is.
