We may be snowed in thanks to the Beast from the East, but thankfully we're not quite at Antarctic levels (yet).

If we were, however, we might be able to conduct fun experiments like the below.

Climate scientist Peter Neff posted a video on Twitter of the sound made by dropping a chunk of ice down a 90-metre hole that had been bored into an Antarctic glacier for scientific experiments. For comparison, the Spire in Dublin is 121 metres.

Let's just say that it's not the sound you might expect, but it's extremely satisfying.
