Conor McGregor faces what will potentially be the toughest battle of his career this weekend when he takes on the fifth-ranked featherweight in the world, Dustin Poirier, and we've got just the thing to get you in the mood.

Irish MMA fans couldn't have hoped for a better night than the one we got on July 19th in Dublin. Wins for our own fighters McGregor, Neil Seery, Cathal Pendred, Norman Parke, Paddy Holohan and (adopted Irishman) Gunnar Nelson firmly announced Ireland's arrival on the international MMA scene. This weekend in Las Vegas, McGregor will attempt to take it to the next level.

A quick glance at the upcoming UFC schedule events shows that the UFC top brass have given our fighters a step up in competition too:

September 27th - Conor McGregor (15-2) vs. Dustin Poirier (16-3)
October 4th - Cathal Pendred (14-2-1) vs. Gasan Umalatov (15-3-1)
October 4th - Gunnar Nelson (13-0-1) vs. Rick Story (17-8)
October 4th - Paddy Holohan (10-0-1) vs. Louis Gaudinot (6-3)
November 15th - Norman Parke (20-2-1) vs Diego Sanchez (25-7)

A big few weeks for Irish fight fans on the horizon, no doubt about it.
