One of the great traditions of half-time at many basketball games is for someone from the crowd to come on to the court and give it the old college try at making a basket from the halfway line.
The resulting shots range from the hilarious to the brilliant, and there's normally some cash up for grabs too. That said, few of them are this ridiculously lucky, as one student from Gonzaga in Washington made his moment in the spotlight count.
Launching the ball from the half-court mark, it hits the backboard, bounces straight up as the crowd assume he's overshot and missed, before it then falls straight down and through the net beautifully.
While that shot deserved to win a huge prize, given how ridiculously lucky it was, he only ended up with $500 for his trouble. Being a sound man, he knew exactly what to do with it.
