Proposing can be tough. The nerves, the excitement, the fear. Will it be a yes, or will they pawn you off with a number of excuses that invariably mean no? You're about to ask one of the most important questions of your life, and have no say over the outcome.
That is of course, unless you go the extra mile and make a big splash with the proposal, overwhelm them so much they can't help but say yes.
Brett Lotriet Best, a film maker from South Africa, knows this all too well. Instead of getting down on one knee for his partner, he decided to video a Love Actually style cue-card message, but with a little twist. Unable to get his partner's favourite actor, Patrick Stewart, to help him with the video, he did manage to get the next best thing, Sir Ian McKellen.
Unfortunately his response wasn't posted in the video, but we couldn't leave it not knowing, so we had to do some digging. Thankfully, having tracked Brett down on Twitter, we uncovered the answer...build suspense...they're happily engaged.
