This is the one time this pilot would ever get to say he literally had a whale of a time.
The scene was Angoon, Alaska, the event was a standard sea landing for this seaplane, but that all went sideways when the pilot spotted a humpback whale breaching the surface of the water just as he was about to land, pulling up at the last second and saving both himself and his passengers as well as the whale from disaster.
