You've probably seen these '100 years of...' videos before. There's been 100 year's of men's hairdos, 100 years of Halloween costumes and all sorts of others.

Well for the week that's in it, they decided to do 100 Years of Irish Beauty, and it's proven quite controversial. They decided to separate the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, and gave the 1970s Northern Irish girl a gun. Yep.

The people behind the video have defended it though, with writer Josh Potter saying; "We used a look inspired by women who were fighting in the Irish Republican Army. Whether or not we were glorifying violence or terrorism by including the IRA look was a question I asked of myself and I think we asked of each other.

"I wanted to use the look simply because it reflected the violence of the time period. I think we would have done a disservice to the project by leaving that look out, because that would have whitewashed a large part of North Ireland's history."

We can see his point but still, the automatic feeling can't help but be one of offense.
