It's been six years since Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh's dulcet tones narrated the drama of a GAA Championship game on and while Marty Morrissey has proved himself to be a more than able replacement as the chief GAA broadcaster on RTÉ Radio 1 it's nice from time to time to remind ourselves of Ó Muircheartaigh's exceptional vocal talents.

A video of Ó Muircheartaigh making a ham sandwich was shared on Reddit earlier this year and redditors were mesmerised by the Kerryman's "relaxing" voice.

The video was made by videojournalist Bryan O’Brien in 2015 and features the former primary school teacher demonstrating how to prepare the perfect "GAA picnic” when travelling to games. He seems to have as much passion for a a good ham sandwich as he does for the GAA.

As we prepare to get through several days worth of leftovers from yesterday's feast, take a few minutes and indulge yourself in Ó Muircheartaigh's sandwich making prowess.

The artistry on display is a cut above the rest.
