Brazilian Welterweight fighter Rousimar Palhares caused a storm at the weekend when he held onto a kimura submission on his opponent, Jake Shields for several seconds after he tapped - nearly breaking his arm in the process - at a World Series of Fighting event.

This isn't the first time that Palahares has done this, he was actually fired from the UFC for doing the same thing to Mike Pierce, when he failed to let go of a heel hook despite the obvious submission of Pierce.

That's not the only thing that's pissing Jake Shields off about the fight either, as he claims Palhares "gauged" him in the eye throughout the fight, with referee Steve Mazzagatti doing little to intervene.

Shields is so frustrated he throws a punch after the referee finally pulls Palhares off him, and we can't say we blame him. The MMA community were quick to once again slate Palhares, with many calling for him to be stripped of his World Series of Fighting title and fired.

Shields eyes were in a bad way after the fight, and he was taken to hospital to be properly examined.
