Miley Cyrus fought back tears while performing Wrecking Ball for the first time since her split from Liam Hemsworth at the iHeartRadio Music Festival on Saturday.

Miley, who confirmed the end of her engagement to actor Liam only last Monday, struggled to contain her emotions as she performed, getting choked up while singing the final lines of the song, 'Don't you ever say I just walked away, I will always want you,' on stage in Las Vegas.

The former couple got engaged in May 2012 after meeting on the set of 2010 movie 'The Last Song', but their relationship has been on rocky ground over the last year.

Liam meanwhile moved the last of his belongings out of her house in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles, on Friday following the split and his recent 'finding of comfort' in Mexican actress-and-singer Eiza Gonzalez, who he was spotted passionately kissing last week after meeting in a Las Vegas nightclub.
