There's a new wave in the alternative comedy scene which sees people read out embarrassing notes from their childhood for the entertainment of total strangers. Items could be entries from the diary you kept as a teenager, short stories you wrote as kid or even home movies of the piano recital you made a balls of. The trend is called Mortied.
Ellie Kemper did the celebrity version of it on liveTV last night when she appeared on Conan O'Brien's show. When the host notes that he's surprised she's never been in a horror movie before (given that she has the wholesome look that screams 'prey'), Kemper replies that while she's never starred in a theatrically released horror movie, she did make her own one when she was 12 years old. Cue some mortifying goodness on live TV.
