Last week, the Russians broke the terrible news that the geckos they'd sent in to space to have sex in zero gravity had passed away.

One man who wasn't going to let this sad occasion go unnoticed was John Oliver, who had launched a campaign (when Russia had temporarily lost contact with the creatures) to put pressure on the government to get the geckos back. 

We're not sure how successful that was, but he wasn't about to let this tragic news pass without marking it somehow. With the help of musical guests A Great Big World, he performed their hit 'Say Something', dedicated to the late intrepid reptilian explorers.
