It seems there is one name that's guaranteed to stun your audience at a Hollywood awards show.
A voiceover announcement asking the audience to welcome Dr. Bill Cosby on stage was met with a stunned reaction from the crowd. The announcement was met with muted applause and Tina Fey and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt star Ellie Kemper in particular didn't look to pleased about the prospect of Cosby making an appearance.

Instead of Cosby coming out on stage, Kimmel appeared to reassure the audience that he wasn't there and the announcement was just a prank.
“Don’t worry, he’s not really here,” Kimmel told the crowd. “I just wanted to see what you would do.”
The crowd seemed generally pretty happy once they realised they'd been hoodwinked.
