Outside of our own brilliant exploits at Euro 2016, it's been the Iceland national team that have captured the imagination of football fans around Europe.
Iceland were playing in the first ever major tournament at Euro 2016 and were widely expected to be dumped out of the tournament in the group stages but they defied the odds, finishing runners up in their group (and unbeaten in all three games) and then going on to defeat a superior England side in the last 16. That result easily ranks as one of the greatest ever shocks in the history of the tournament.
While their tournament ended in disappointing fashion against France on Sunday night, it didn't stop the Iceland fans giving the team the heroes welcome that they deserved on their return home. We're not sure exactly how many people turned out to see the team but we'd imagine it's a fair share of the country's population.
