Ireland's Robbie Keane was named the best player in Major League Soccer for the last season last night, and this highlight video of his best moments this season shows exactly why.

There's no doubting that Keane has always performed for Galaxy, and as he said himself in an interview at the MVP announcement, "I'm not here for a holiday". When asked what kind of impact Keane brings to the team, his head coach Bruce Arena said that he had been fantastic this season, and "his statistics speak for themselves...but he's [also] quite a personality and leader for our team". You can feast your eyes on a few of his goals and assists this year, including a couple of beautiful chipped finishes, below.

Keane is the first European to have won the award, meaning that he has eclipsed stars such as Thierry Henry and David Beckham to achieve the honour. Pundit and former US national team star Alexi Lalas said Keane was the best 'Designated Player' that the league had ever seen.

His season is not quite finished yet however, as the LA Galaxy face off against the New England Revolution on Sunday for the MLS title, so he'll be hoping to add another goal to his tally before all is said and done.
