If you haven't noticed the over-pouring of emotion and well-wishing online in the aftermath of a celebrity's death, you obviously haven't been online long.

It's not necessarily a bad thing, because many fans want to share their love, as well as their respects, to someone who has given them a lot through whatever medium they create through. 

The problem arises when people use it as a means to gain attention, likes, shares, favourites, and interactions for themselves on social media.
